Class of 2019 Mai Thi Thu Thuy Nationality: Vietnamese

When I was in the Japanese language department, I always tried my best to get the top score in the exams. I also wanted to participate in and experience various activities. I really enjoyed my two years in the Japanese language department. Now that I am studying abroad, I miss Miyazaki very much.

I hope you all make lots of memories while you're in Miyazaki. The teachers at the school are kind, so feel free to talk to them if you have any problems. Don't forget the goal you had when you came to Japan, and do your best in your Japanese studies. Both the teachers and I are always rooting for you.

Class of 2020 Yoon So-yoon Nationality: Korean

Nice to meet you! My name is Soyun and I came from Korea two and a half years ago. Actually, Miyazaki is not well known in Korea. So I never dreamed of studying abroad in Miyazaki.

However, a friend from my childhood graduated from this school's Japanese department and introduced me to it. At the time, I wanted to live in Japan, but I couldn't speak Japanese at all, so I was worried about whether I could live alone in Miyazaki, where there are almost no Koreans. But I took the courage and came to Miyazaki. During the first lesson, no matter how slowly the teacher spoke, I couldn't understand anything.

I was worried that the teachers would get angry at me for not understanding such a simple thing, but as I watched the teachers kindly explain each thing to me, my worries disappeared. They were considerate of everything from where to live to various issues in daily life, which reassured not only me but also my family back home. The teachers' support was very helpful for me, who lives alone. Big cities are nice, but I'm glad I studied abroad in Miyazaki, where the air is clean and the atmosphere is warm.

Class of 2020 Neupane Khem Kumari Nationality: Nepalese

My name is Neupane Khem Kumari. I came to Japan in April 2019. At that time, I had mixed feelings, wondering what kind of life I would lead and whether I would be able to live alone away from my family.

Living in Miyazaki has had fun times, sad times, and difficult times. No matter how difficult things were, I was able to persevere thanks to the help and kindness of all my teachers. I am truly grateful.

Even after I leave Miyazaki, I will never forget the two years I spent there. I am glad that I came to Miyazaki, made so many friends, and met the teachers who looked after me like family.

No matter where I study, I will continue to have the good experiences I received from my teachers in Miyazaki. And I will do my best to show my teachers how I have grown someday. I was able to have so many good experiences thanks to coming to Miyazaki. Thank you so much.

Class of 2020 So Nennen Nationality: Chinese

My two years in the Japanese language department were very fulfilling. I gained a lot during those two years, but the experience I had through "sand sculpture" became my best memory.

We were then made to realize that we had become senior students and were in a position to lead our juniors. I remember feeling a great sense of accomplishment and excitement when, despite my anxiety, we worked together until the very end to create a piece that was well received.
